facts related to your birthday and birth date that you may not have
known.
You were born in the under the star sign Aquarius with Elizabeth II on
the throne and Harold Mc Millan as the prime minister. In this year
Wolves won the FA Cup and the film Psycho was first released in this year terrifying filmgoers.
You could buy the average house for under £4,000 which sounds great but with the average wage under £8 a week was still unaffordable to many.
You share your birthdate with Ronald Reagan (1911), Zsa Zsa Gabor (1917), the late great Bob Marley (1945), GnR frontman Axl Rose (1962) and the much loved by some, Rick Astley who is celebrating his 44th birthday today.

 | Being born
in 1960 meant that those hitting 50 this year grew up through the
sixties and were just getting in to music in the early seventies when
bands and singers such as Blondie, The Doobie Brothers, Dire Straits,
The Cars, Eagles, Kiss, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, Pink Floyd, REO
Speedwagon, Elton John and many others were starting out in the industry.
What can be considered a testament to the music of the 70s is that
most of the above are still recording and touring now in one form
or another - or is it proof that todays manufactured music really
doesnt appeal to that many?
With regards to fashion, we could not look at the 60s without mentioning
Mary Quant and the miniskirt. In 1965 she took the idea from the 1964
designs by Courrèges and liking the shorter styles she made them even
shorter for her boutique Bazaar. The style still carries on with some
loving the skirt and some hating it! |
Interesting facts about 1960 include
NASA launching the first weather satallite and the first laser was invented. The US also launched the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier.
Births this year include Michael Hutchence of INXS who died in 1997, Prince Andrew, Linford Christie, Ian Rankin the crime writer, Bono, Mick Hucknall, not forgetting Hugh Grant and many more.
Now that we have jumped forward 50 years and are in 2010 we still look back
on our childhoods with great memories and the idea of this site is not only
to help with 50th birthday presents, but also to remind you a little of
the decades that have gone by since 1960.
It is quite hard for all of us to know what sort of presents and gifts people
wouild like so we are going to conduct a number of interviews with people
who are either nearing, or have just passe their 50th birthday to see what
sort of pressies they would like/ received. This way we will be able to
build up a stronger idea of the gifts and experiences that we should offer
and be of even more help to you the customer. We are also hoping these chats
will turn up interesting stories and thoughts on growing up through the
60s and 70s and other ideas. If you would be interested in being on our
interview page please contact us on info@your50thbirthday.co.uk
and we will get back to you.
We really hope that after reading through the many pages within our site
you will find the perfect 50th birthday gift. If you still find yourself
struggling feel free to contact your 50th birthday on 01992 815502
or 07973 863820 and we will try to help with gift ideas
as much as we can.
